                                                            COVERAGE THROUGH THE AGES

Have you ever wondered at what age it's appropriate to purchase solid financial protection? Life insurance fits a variety of needs and it's never too early to secure coverage but can unexpectedly be too late.

THE EARLY YEARS

Knights of Columbus insurance policies may be purchased for young children (grandchildren), with coverage lasting through their college years and beyond. Keep in mind insuring your children early helps ensure coverage later on. As they get older, you can teach your teens to build in life insurance coverage as part of a budget, starting them on a lifelong practice of understanding the need for protection. Children (grandchildren) are eligible for K of C insurance through their father's membership up to the age of 18. Neglecting to get a plan started for them before they turn age 18, will cost your children the opportunity to participate in the awesome K of C insurance programs in the future.

YOUNG ADULTS

While college students or recent graduates may be more concerned with paying back student loans and landing that first job, life insurance is still a great idea. While in college and in the years immediately following, many young people accumulate more debt than they realize in the form of student loans, credit card bills and car loans. If something happens to them, the obligations for these bills will fall on the parents, if they have co-signed for the loans. Another advantage to buying life insurance in college is that it will be much more affordable when purchased at a younger age and the ability to qualify is much easier.

CAREER AND FAMILY

If you are single with no dependents, remember you do not have to die to benefit from life insurance. For instance, permanent plans of insurance accumulate cash value that can be used to systematically accumulate money for retirement or other important needs.

Of course, if you are married or have a family, life insurance is an excellent risk-management tool. You'll have peace of mind knowing that your loved one's financial needs will be covered regardless if something happens to you or not.

RETIREMENT

Life insurance can still be useful in retirement-even necessary. It can enhance your pension, protect your retirement income, replace your social security check and can provide a means to help support your spouse when you are no longer here to do so.
